About

About Maui County CCBHC

Our Mission

To support the behavioral and mental health and well-being of people in Maui County. Our
caring team provides behavioral health care for children and adults with a wide range of needs.  We offer person-centered and trauma-informed care and work closely with doctors, providers, and community partners to make sure care is connected and consistent.

Our Goal

We strive to expand quality behavioral healthcare to anyone without insurance and those underinsured throughout Maui County. We will not turn anyone away.

Our History

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) expand the Hawaii State Department of Health’s comprehensive network of behavioral health services for individuals and families in Hawaii. The Maui County CCBHC joins more than 500 CCBHCs funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services operating across the country to ensure access to coordinated and comprehensive behavioral health care. The Maui County CCBHC is funded through a four-year Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant. We offer a comprehensive array of behavioral health services to anyone requiring care, regardless of their ability to pay.

Hawaii’s CCBHC network joins the DOH Behavioral Health Administration’s continuum of care, which also includes:

  • Hawaii CARES 988, a free crisis, mental health, and substance use call center that provides 24/7 services.
  • Crisis Mobile Outreach services that deploy trained behavioral health workers to support individuals in crisis.
  • Outpatient services for adults, which include nine active clubhouses across Hawaii, that serve as voluntary, out-patient psychosocial rehabilitation programs for adults.
  • Outpatient services for youth and their families, which include Family Guidance Centers in every county.
  • Crisis and stabilization in-patient support for adults and youth.
  • In-patient services provided at the Hawaii State Hospital.
